 Youth & Family Support Worker

Community Based - Waltham

 

Salary Range:  $22.00 - $28.00/hour depending on experience and degree + sign-on bonus (half paid after 6 months of employment and half paid after 1 year of employment/pro-rated for part-time).

What you will do:

  • Provide culturally informed therapeutic interventions to children, young adults, and their families, that promote skill building in the life domainsof:social functioning, symptom management, coping skills and activities of daily living.
  • Collaborate with all members of the team to ensure continuity in treatment, services, and messages delivered. 
  • Provide both "soft" services (mentoring, counseling, skill-building) with identified clients as well as "hard" services including transportation, referrals, accessing concrete services such as furniture, food, etc.
  • Serve as an advocate and attend meetings with the family and as requested by the youth and/or family.

MinimumRequirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field plus at least 1 year of direct experience working with children, young adults, and/or families.
  • Driving in the community is a requirement of this position; please ensure you have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

We will train you in: Motivational Interviewing; Courageous Conversations; Trauma Informed Practice; Attachment, Regulation and Competency Model (ARC).
