    Summary: Paraprofessionals are responsible for working in a team environment in the Elementary School assisting the instructors in providing educational experiences and support to students.
     
    Primary Responsibilities:  

    • Provide instructional and personal care assistance to students
    • Monitor and evaluate student progress
    • Assist students in a general or special education classroom
    • Participate as a classified staff member within the building
    • Participate in all aspects of students schooling experience
    • Responsible for providing a safe educational environment
    • Participate in implementing students' Individual Education Plans and behavior plans
    • Monitor students in classrooms, on breaks, during lunch, recess, time outs, on field trips, getting on and off the bus, entering and exiting school, etc.
    • Any and all other duties as assigned

    Requirements: 

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Experience working with elementary age students preferred, but not required
    • Experience working with students with disabilities preferred, but not required
    • Applicant must demonstrate a great deal of patience and empathy
    • Criminal background check 

     
    Salary and Benefits:
    Starting salary range is $16.25-$17.75 per hour, depending on years of relevant experience. The district provides health insurance benefits including dental and vision, PERA retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability, an optional supplemental 401(k) plan, an employee assistance plan, and the ability to enroll in supplemental insurances and savings accounts through a third-party vendor.  The Weld RE-9 School District offers a tuition reimbursement program for individuals wanting to continue their education, reimbursement for obtaining a substitute license, and pathways to teacher licensure for interested staff.
