Position Overview
The Merchandising Partner is a collaborative advisor and field support partner who helps bring merchandising strategy to life in stores. This role supports store performance across an assigned geographic area and has a direct impact on both the team member and customer experience.
The Merchandising Partner serves as a key connection between merchandising business partners and store teams, enabling clarity, consistency, and effective execution of merchandising priorities. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to influence without direct authority, and a commitment to operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
Merchandising Execution & Field Support
Provide training, guidance, and coaching to department leaders and team members on effective merchandising techniques
Ensure proper execution of corporate merchandising, pricing, and promotional programs at the store level
Support merchandising clarity and consistency to enable efficient execution and a compelling shopping experience
Partner with Store Team Leaders and department leaders to review presentation, quality, and inventory levels
Provide guidance on perishable product quality to support safety, sanitation, and production standards
Reinforce understanding of standard operating procedures, merchandising guidelines, and featured products
Participate in the interview and selection process for department leaders, as needed
Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and operational standards
Collaboration, Insights & Continuous Improvement
Build strong relationships with merchandising business partners to understand vision, plans, and business goals
Cultivate, monitor, and share insights to support continuous improvement and optimal store performance
Provide merchandising execution performance summaries to Division Managers and business partners
Identify trends, best practices, and opportunities for improvement
Identify training gaps and serve as a subject matter expert to support learning and development efforts
Share best practices and recognize store successes to reinforce consistent execution
Communicate wins and success stories using companywide communication channels
Advocate for simplified processes and provide feedback to improve merchandising communication and execution
Provide guidance and feedback on tools and equipment that support visual merchandising and food production
What You Bring
Education & Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Five (5) or more years of store operations or food department leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge & Skills
Strong knowledge of store operations and/or visual merchandising
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn related software tools
Ability to monitor and analyze performance data, including P&L and key operational reports
Knowledge of food safety, handling regulations, and operational standards
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong financial and analytical skills
Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple assignments, and meet tight deadlines
High level of initiative, sense of urgency, and results orientation
Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to train, coach, and develop store teams
