Position Overview
We are embedding an intelligent AI platform on Microsoft Azure directly into our Operations and Supply Chain, to transform how our teams plan, make decisions, and solve problems. As an AI Developer in Operations, you will design and implement AI agents and secure, real-time backend systems that connect large language models, operational data, and business applications. You will work with planners, logistics and production teams to understand real operational challenges and turn them into scalable, production-ready AI solutions that improve lead times, service levels, and efficiency.
You will join Operations EMEA and collaborate with integration developers, data scientists, and our central Digital Transformation team to drive intelligent automation across Supply Chain, Production, Logistics, and Customer Service - embedding AI into demand and supply planning, production scheduling, inventory management, and customer support.
The role is based in Sundsvall.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable Python microservices, deployed in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or App Services, that power AI agents and automations for Operations and Supply Chain,
- Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines leveraging Azure OpenAI Service, Cognitive Search/Azure AI Search, and Azure Storage, using operational data, SOPs, and process documentation,
- Collaborate with integration developers to securely expose LLM-driven functions and actions via Azure API Management and event-driven architectures (e.g. Service Bus),
- Work with ML engineers and platform teams to automate deployment, evaluation, and monitoring of AI agents in production, ensuring reliability, security, and performance,
- Partner closely with planners, production, logistics, and customer service teams to identify high-value AI use cases, run experiments, and measure business impact.
Qualifications & Skills
- Master/Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or similar education,
- 3+ years of professional Python development experience,
- Strong understanding of Azure services (App Services, AKS, Key Vault, Storage, Service Bus, OpenAI),
- Experience with LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or other orchestration frameworks,
- Familiarity with vector databases such as Azure AI Search, Pinecone, or Redis Vector,
- Solid grasp of asynchronous programming, REST API design, and OAuth 2.0 / Entra ID authentication,
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions),
- Experience in agile methodologies,
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Swedish is a plus.
Meriting skills
- Experience with Azure ML or MLOps pipelines,
- Background in prompt engineering, model evaluation, or RAG optimization,
- Knowledge of data governance and responsible-AI best practices.
