Position Posting: Bowling Coach (High School)
Position Summary:
Reeths-Puffer High School is seeking a knowledgeable and committed Bowling Coach to lead its high school bowling program. The coach will be responsible for building a competitive program while fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth among student-athletes.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct effective practices focused on skill development and competitive preparation
- Instruct athletes in proper bowling techniques, strategy, and match play
- Organize and supervise all team activities, including practices, meets, and tournaments
- Promote academic success and monitor student-athlete eligibility
- Model and reinforce positive sportsmanship and character
- Communicate clearly with athletes, parents, school staff, and administration
- Manage program logistics, including scheduling, equipment, uniforms, and transportation
- Maintain compliance with all school district policies and Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) rules and regulations
- Oversee assistant coaches (if applicable) and support overall program development
Qualifications:
- Prior coaching experience at the high school or equivalent level preferred
- Competitive bowling experience and strong knowledge of the sport
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to motivate and connect with high school student-athletes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must meet all district and state requirements for coaching, including successful background check
