The Change Manager within the Digital Planning, Culture & Practices Team is responsible for leading and executing change management activities to support ScottishPower’s digital transformation, applying the ScottishPower / Iberdrola change framework and methodology to ensure consistent, effective adoption of change across the organisation.
This role will operate across a tiered change support model, including leading embedded change management workstreams for large, complex or high risk digital initiatives where dedicated change delivery is required, as well as providing change guidance, coaching and best practice support to other areas of the business where a consultative approach is appropriate.-risk digital initiatives where dedicated change delivery is required, as well as providing change guidance, coaching and best-practice support to other areas of the business where a consultative approach is appropriate.
In addition to leading change for digital initiatives, this role will play a key part in enabling the organisation to adopt and realise value from Artificial Intelligence (AI). This includes supporting workforce readiness, cultural change, ethical and responsible AI adoption, and the embedding of new AI‑enabled ways of working in partnership with the Central AI Programme and business areas.
What you'll be doing
- Ensure successful adoption of new technologies and practices by staff, leading to improved efficiency, productivity, and alignment with the organisation's digital transformation goals.
- Deliver change and adoption activity for AI‑enabled initiatives, ensuring employees are prepared, supported, and confident to work alongside AI tools and solutions.
- Partner with the Central AI Programme and business stakeholders to shape and execute AI enablement, engagement, and adoption plans.
- Achieve high levels of stakeholder support and involvement in change initiatives, reduce resistance to change, and maintain high morale and productivity among employees.
- Collaborate closely with key stakeholders and embedded change leads (where relevant) within business areas to ensure comprehensive business process impact and people readiness assessments are conducted, applying the ScottishPower / Iberdrola change framework.
- Use insights to shape mitigation strategies, communications and project specific adoption activity, and to inform Organisational Capability of learning requirements, working in partnership with the People / Organisational Capability team who will align with enterprise training plans and learning governance, ensuring smooth transitions and successful adoption
- Ensure clear, transparent, and timely communication about change initiatives, progress, and impacts, ensuring all relevant parties are well-informed and supportive of the changes
- Ensure employees are equipped with the skills and knowledge required to adopt new processes, technologies and ways of working by delivering project specific change and adoption activity, applying the ScottishPower / Iberdrola change framework
- Establish and nurture AI change networks, champions, and communities of practice, encouraging experimentation, collaboration, and feedback from across the business
- Identify and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of digital initiatives and cultural change efforts, making data-driven adjustments as needed
- Support and lead a culture of continuous improvement, where feedback is regularly gathered, outcomes are analysed, and lessons learned are implemented to enhance future change initiatives.
- Strong alignment and integration of change initiatives across the organisation, with effective collaboration between cross-functional teams, leading to cohesive and successful change efforts.
- Provide effective support for the organisation's digital transformation efforts, with expertise and guidance provided on best practices and innovative solutions, driving strategic objectives and business success.
What you'll bring
- Proven experience in leading digital transformation and change management initiatives within an organisation of similar size and scale
- Expertise in change management principles and practices to effectively manage transitions and minimise resistance
- Ability to assess the impact of digital initiatives and make data-driven decisions, providing innovative solutions to meet organisational needs
- Strong interest in AI, automation, and new ways of working, with the ability to translate complex concepts into practical, people‑focused change activity
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and leading projects involving significant cultural and technical change
- Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and benefit realisation. Hands on experience of delivering all the relevant change activities, and content but also able to self-manage and navigate ambiguity
- Strong ability to build relationships and communicate the vision, goals, and progress of digital transformation initiatives to all levels of the organisation
- Understanding and addressing employee concerns during transitions
- Experience supporting the adoption of new digital capabilities or emerging technologies, with an understanding of the people and cultural impacts involved
- Confidence working in environments with high ambiguity and rapid evolution, adapting change approaches as AI capabilities and use cases mature
- Skilled in identifying and resolving conflicts
Minimum Criteria
- At least 3-5 years of experience in leading digital transformation and change management initiatives in medium to large scale projects
- Demonstrated experience in managing cross-functional teams and leading projects that involve significant cultural and technical changes
- Experience in engaging and influencing stakeholders at various levels, including senior leadership
- Working knowledge of change management methodologies (e.g Prosci/ADKAR/Kotter/Agile Change) Change Impact Assessments and Resistance Management approaches
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively
- Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and benefit realisation, and commercial awareness and ability to align change initiatives to business goals
- Ability to analyse data and make data-driven decisions to support digital and cultural initiatives
