Job Overview:
The Learning Specialist supports and facilitates learning and development activities. The role manages and maintains training facilities and resources, coordinating event logistics for face-to-face training events, providing and/or coordinating on-site and/or remote support for learners and instructors, and recommending delivery support improvement opportunities to improve the quality of in-person learning experiences. The role supports business unit SMEs, Learning Partners, and Learning Managers in the execution of the learning strategy through delivery on appropriate learning solutions.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Manage learning solution projects of low-to-moderate complexity including creating and executing the course design and development schedule, coordinating with the learning project team as required.
- Deliver training and/or support local SMEs providing training, as needed.
- Manage and maintain training facilities and resources-Manage site training calendar, if applicable, and advise clients on site facility availability.
- Maintain working operation of training facilities and resources if applicable, and coordinate work orders as needed.
- Coordinate event logistics-Coordinate with Learning Operations and/or Learning Managers on event and logistics needs.
- Create communications in support of training projects.
- Liaise with Meeting Services and/or external vendors to reserve meeting facilities, as appropriate.
- Coordinate transportation and access to sites/training rooms for instructors and participants, as needed.
- Arrange catering and refreshments for training sessions, per Fortrea policies.
- Ensure the appropriate setup of training room seating, AV, and standard supplies prior to training sessions.
- Produce, prep, order and/or print training materials prior to sessions, as necessary.
- Provide on-site support for training events, as required:
- Greet instructors, visitors, and attendees; Distribute training materials, as appropriate.
- Track attendance during training events and send to Learning Operations for entry into LMS, as required.
- Provide logistical assistance to instructors / participants during live sessions and resolve / escalate any logistical / technical issues, as appropriate.
- Collect training feedback per Global Learning and Change Management metric processes and standards (as required), and disseminate responses to appropriate groups, as requested.
- Break down the facility at the completion of events (i.e., leave facility as it was found or better).
- Recommend delivery support improvement opportunities-Provide monthly report on status of facilities, services, resources, and processes.
- Identify process improvements and service gaps.
Qualifications (Minimum Required):
- Minimum 5 years of related experience, with minimum 1 year of experience developing learning solutions (e.g., e-learning, instructor led courses, documents, exams, etc.); experience managing multiple low-medium complexity learning solution projects at once and experience coordinating events.
- Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications Include:
- Degree or certification in instructional design, education, training, facilitation, or related field of study.
- Experience handling learning operations, coordinating logistics, or managing facilities; experience in an internal or external customer facing role; experience working with outsourced service providers.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles, facilitation, and learner-centered activities; experience managing / liaising with outsourced vendors to develop and/or provide learning content; experience developing blended learning solutions for different learning modalities. (e.g., e-learning, classroom training, virtual training, etc.)
- Knowledge of mobile learning requirements; knowledge of social learning concepts and application.
- Knowledge of e-learning standards and LMS courseware integration with AICC and SCORM.
- Knowledge of emerging and progressive content development tools and techniques; familiarity with content authoring tools / development technologies (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate, HTML, etc.); knowledge or experience in creating reusable content / learning assets.
- Learning Design and Development: Knowledge of processes, tools, and techniques for designing and developing a solution to stated learning needs.
- Learning Delivery: Knowledge of methods and alternatives for delivering learning solutions.
- Adult Learning Theory and Practice: Knowledge of concepts and practices of adult learning and its application to the workplace.
- Learning Evaluation: Knowledge of methods, tools, and techniques for evaluating the effectiveness and impact of learning.
