Description

Under the leadership of the Maintenance Manager/Director, the Lubrication Technician is  responsible for equipment lubrication, contamination control, inspection and proactive maintenance activities for all lubricated mechanical systems. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Keeps accurate records of work that has been completed.
  • Fits and assembles machined parts/subassemblies.
  • Uses lock-out/tag out procedures when required to maintain safety in the workplace.
  • Checks assemblies and inspects finished products for quality.
  • Assists and develops maintenance procedures and ensures implementation.
  • Carries or back up out inspections of the facility to identify and resolve issues.
  • Monitor’s equipment inventory 
  • Works to ensure all business standards, demands and any regulatory (local, state and/or federal) regulations and/or guidelines are followed.
  • Operating filtration equipment.
  • Grease relubrication with manual and automatic dispensing equipment
  • Maintenance of dispensing equipment and automatic systems
  • Printing and fulfilling planned lubrication activities
  • Update scheduling systems, including adding notes to system and requesting work orders for maintenance repairs and activities.
  • Receive and evaluate oil analysis results for future planned maintenance.
  • Report in writing any discrepancies or conditions that require corrective, predictive or planned maintenance for production systems
  • Be a team player who assists the maintenance team as needed. 
  • Ensures APC policies and procedures are complied with.
  • Other responsibilities as delegated by Maintenance Manager or Director. 


Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in an industrial environment (manufacturing, Industrial). 
  • Advanced equipment trouble shooting skills are required.   
  • Excellent communication skills to include written, verbal, good listener. 
  • Have some knowledge of standard industry regulations. 
  • Working knowledge of industrial electrical and mechanical principals and their operation. 
  • Understanding of PLC Ladder Logic is preferred.
  • Highly developed skills to include detail oriented, neat, extremely organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Some technical skills such as computer literacy on windows or maintenance programs and systems. 
  • Shows initiative and be a team player.

Working Conditions:

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, and drive intermittently. The employee must be able reach, handle materials above and below the shoulder, kneel, crawl, squat, bend, and twist at the waist, climb ladders and stairs and tilt their head throughout the day on a frequent basis and occasionally lift parts and equipment up to pounds. The individual must also be able to carry parts or equipment up to 70 pounds or more (with assistance) 1 to 10 feet. Must be able to use power tools, hand tools, and welders intermittently and carry said equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and forklifts. The environment is ventilated, air conditioned, damp, and with vibrations. The ground can be uneven. The employee will rarely be exposed to fumes/gases and/or chemicals. The environment can be dusty and heated. Employees are required to wear the following protective equipment: hard hat, hair and/or beard net, steel toes boots (or equivalent), eye wear, cut gloves, and fall protection hear when necessary. Hearing protection is optional. The employee is performing the job indoors 95% of the time and 5% outdoors.
