The Opportunity
The GSI Family of Companies is looking for a seasoned Construction Superintendent to lead high-visibility federal projects. In this role, you aren’t just a supervisor; you are the onsite engine driving project success. You will manage the intersection of technical specifications, safety compliance, and subcontractor coordination to deliver infrastructure that serves our nation.
Core Responsibilities
- Field Leadership: Direct and coordinate all trade groups and subcontractors to ensure execution aligns perfectly with the Statement of Work (SOW).
- Schedule Excellence: Maintain the master project schedule through meticulous planning and the development of "3-week look-ahead" schedules.
- Resource Coordination: Collaborate with Project Engineers on material takeoffs and ensure all equipment and supplies arrive onsite precisely when needed.
- Federal Quality Control: Inspect work across all trades to ensure it meets GSI’s high standards and rigorous federal plans/specifications.
- Safety Mastery: Act as the onsite safety lead, enforcing EM 385-1-1 and OSHA regulations to ensure every team member goes home safe every day.
- Strategic Meetings: Lead weekly progress meetings and facilitate Quality Control (QC) preparatory meetings and inspections.
- Project Lifecycle Support: Assist in drafting subcontract scopes, project estimates, bid packages, and budget preparations.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience: 10+ years as a Construction Superintendent, with at least 5 years leading projects of similar scale and complexity.
- Safety Training: 5+ years of documented Construction Safety Training and a current OSHA 30-Hour certification.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management applications.
- Compliance: Valid Driver’s License with a clear abstract.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Assets:
- Federal Expertise: Direct experience with Department of Defense (DoD) contracting.
- EM 385-1-1: Current certification (or the ability to obtain it within the first week of hire).
- Education: A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
