Shift Coordinator

 

The Shift Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with daily store operations, including opening and closing operations for events. This role supports adherence to all warehouse standards for safety, customer service, product quality, operations, and store cleanliness while serving as a role model and resource for other team members. While performing breaks or events, the Shift Coordinator influences buyer behavior through customer education, engagement, and enthusiastic product demonstration.

Responsibilities

  • Engage and sell products to members during product demonstrations while supporting multiple sales advisors during breaks

  • Assist managers to ensure sales advisors follow instructions and standard operating procedures to deliver safe and quality events

  • Assist managers with opening and closing activities including preparing and securing equipment and supplies

  • Coordinate organization and execution of food and non‑food events, road shows, and merchandising projects including product purchasing, restocking, setup, teardown, cleaning, sanitizing, and proper storage of supplies

  • Confirm accurate event hours are recorded including sales advisor sign‑in and sign‑out

  • Assist managers with health, safety, and sanitation activities to maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Education Requirements: High school education

  • Experience Requirements: 0–2 years experience in relevant field (Event, sales, retail, or grocery experience preferred)

  • Travel requirement: No travel requirements

Supervisor Responsibility

 

Direct Reports: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct reports


Indirect Reports: Does not have direct reports, but may delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and

mentoring to indirect reports

 

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to engage and build positive relationships with customers, retail personnel, and company representatives

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions and procedures

  • Ability to complete required food safety or job‑related training and certifications

  • Ability to manage time and multiple tasks with frequent interruptions

  • Ability to use or learn to use smart devices for work tasks including timekeeping and schedules

  • Ability to safely use food demonstration tools, utensils, and basic cooking equipment

  • Ability to stand and move throughout a retail environment for extended periods and perform setup and cleanup activities

  • Ability to perform specialized demonstration duties when required

Environmental & Physical Requirements

 

Field Requirements: Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed in a retail in-store environment, which may include working in variable temperatures such as refrigerated areas, freezer sections and deli/bakery areas. The position typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each workday performing the following activities: Engage in considerable physical activity, ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds, stand on feet for long periods of time, use consumer goods products, prepare, and serve food and beverages safely as appropriate for the product demonstration.
