Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Responsible for assisting the Compliance Manager in the daily oversight and administration of program compliance for GCHP Management's growing property management portfolio. The position shall assist with periodic reporting to investors and funding agencies. The Specialist is responsible for reviewing lease-up files and the accuracy of tenant files. The Compliance Specialist is expected to have a demonstrated systematic approach to maintaining regulatory compliance, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet firm timelines.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education: College Degree preferred


Experience:

  • Active certification in LIHTC Compliance from an accredited provider required (within the last 12 months)
  • Minimum of (5) five years previous LIHTC work experience required
  • Working knowledge of HOME, Section 8, HUD programs are a plus
  • Effective communication skills across a diverse range of audiences
  • Proficiency in OneSite Affordable required
  • Possess excellent organizational skills, initiative, and the ability to work independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the updating of rent, utility allowances, and income limits
  • Conduct on-site and electronic tenant file reviews to mitigate compliance risk
  • Actively pursue and maintain current, comprehensive knowledge of all affordable housing programs in GCHP Management's property portfolio
  • Review all tenant certifications for compliance with applicable program regulations and GCHP protocols
  • Respond to state agency and investor requests for tenant files and property documentation
  • Request and track specific corrections to non-compliant files from property management
  • Assist with training new and existing property management staff on tenant file compliance and recertification protocols until all file issues have been resolved
  • Provide technical guidance to property management
