Job Description

As an Retina Ophthalmic Photographer, you will be responsible for documenting ocular disease processes through advanced imaging and diagnostic testing as ordered by the provider. This role plays a critical part in supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment by capturing high-quality images and maintaining precise patient records.

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday
  • Start time between 7:45 AM – 9:00 AM
  • 8.5-hour shift with a 30-minute lunch

What You Will Be Doing

  • Escort patients from the waiting area to the photography room in a professional and timely manner
  • Navigate the EHR/EMR system to verify patient information and accurately upload images and documentation to patient charts
  • Perform high-quality OCT imaging using Zeiss and Heidelberg equipment
  • Capture fundus photography using Zeiss, Eidon, and Optos systems
  • Perform fluorescein angiography (FA) and indocyanine green angiography (ICG) using multiple imaging platforms
  • Conduct visual field and color vision testing
  • Record and track patient data using Excel spreadsheets
  • Troubleshoot imaging equipment issues and coordinate with technical support as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

What You Know

Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience with Humphrey Visual Fields, OCT imaging, angiography, and fundus photography
  • Ability to work in low-light environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Preferred

  • Ophthalmic Technician experience
