Job Description

We are expanding our operations and are on the lookout for a Yard Organizer to join our team. In this role you will maintain a safe, organized, and efficient yard by managing the movement and placement of all trailers and trucks on-site. 

 

Duties:

  • Keep the yard organized by assigning parking spots and maintaining an accurate, up-to-date map of where each unit is located.
  • Work with the purchasing team to receive, check, and properly place incoming trucks and trailers.

  • Move units to maintenance, repair, or wash areas, and return them to their assigned spots when finished.

  • Prepare and pull units for customer visits, photos, and final delivery.

  • Check damaged units before moving them by looking at their structure, brakes, and connections to ensure they can be moved safely. The Yard Organizer is responsible for safely moving damaged units to the service area.

  • Inspect all incoming units and report any visible damage or missing parts.

  • Keep the yard clean and safe, with clear driving paths and proper signs.

  • Handle simple tasks, such as adding or removing decals and taking clear photos for sales listings.

  • Report any space limitations in the yard and any equipment needs to management in a timely manner.

Required Competencies:

  • Class A CDL or knowledge how to operate with a truck and trailer; Forklift certification preferred (on-site training provided).

  • Proven experience operating a spotter truck or semi-truck, with experience in maneuvering and parking trailers within tight yard environments.

  • Strong spatial awareness and familiarity with various trailer types (Flatbed, Step Deck, Lowboy, Dry Van, Reefer) is preferred.

  • Reliable and self-motivated, able to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to keep accurate yard records, assign parking spaces, and use space efficiently.

Physical Requirements:

  • Constant physical activity, including walking the yard and frequently climbing in and out of heavy equipment throughout the shift.

  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and environments (exposure to dust, noise, and diesel fumes).

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, stooping, and climbing without restriction.

  • Strict commitment to all yard and shop safety protocols and PPE requirements.
