We are seeking a dedicated Bus Aide to join our team and ensure the safety and well-being of students during their bus transportation to and from school.
Special Needs (SPED) Bus Aide supports the needs of students during routine activities and emergency situations. Effectively supervise and manage the behavior of students on-board to ensure safe and efficient transport.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the safe bus transportation and care of students with special needs as required by their Individual Educational Plan.
- Ability to ascend and descend school bus and assist students in ascending and descending bus in an orderly fashion.
- Ensure only authorized personnel board the bus.
- Ensure hand-to-hand custody of assigned students to designated sponsor, parent guardian or school official.
- Ability to move or traverse to assist the bus driver in maintaining good and safe student conduct on the bus.
- Secure seatbelts and/or special equipment that may accompany the student(s) including: Wheelchairs, child safety restraints systems or shoulder harnesses.
- Shall be CPR/AED and First Aid certified for the age group of the students they are transporting.
- Use appropriate communication, displaying courteous and caring attitude in dealing with students, parents and other employee.,
- Must have acceptable availability to work and attendance to the job is required.
- Participate in bus safety training and evacuation.
- Participate in school bus safety training and evacuation drills held during the school year.
- Pursuant to the Government Contract, you must be a U.S. Citizen.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.57 - $21.16 per hour
