The Electrical & Systems Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems that support high-performance computing (HPC) environments with advanced liquid-to-chip cooling technology. This role requires expertise in electrical distribution systems, backup power infrastructure, and the integration of cooling technologies unique to HPC facilities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-driven, and experienced in maintaining mission-critical environments.

Job requirements
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, one-lines, and control wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency with test equipment (multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, infrared cameras).
- Ability to work safely around energized electrical equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, electro-mechanical, and generator systems.
- Effective communication and collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.
- 5+ years as an industrial/commercial electrician, preferably in data center, HPC, or mission-critical environments.
- Experience with liquid cooling technologies (CDUs, manifolds, dielectric or water-based cooling) strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of UPS systems, switch gear, generators, and backup power systems required.
Other important requirements:
- Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies.
- Must provide own steel-toed work boots; other PPE will be supplied.
- Must be able to reliably commute to the work site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.
Job responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems supporting HPC operations, including switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, PDUs, grounding, generators, and distribution panels.
- Support specialized electrical integration of liquid-to-chip cooling systems, including pump power, flow sensors, heat exchangers, and control circuits.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and control issues related to HPC racks, cooling distribution units (CDUs), and facility power systems.
- Operate, maintain, and test standby generators to ensure reliable emergency power availability; perform load testing, fuel system inspections, and automatic transfer switch (ATS) functionality checks.
- Conduct routine inspections, electrical testing, and infrared thermography to identify potential failures before downtime occurs.
- Ensure proper electrical load balancing and monitoring across HPC clusters, cooling infrastructure, and backup power systems.
- Work closely with mechanical, controls, and IT teams to coordinate electrical support for liquid cooling and power infrastructure.
- Maintain compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and facility-specific safety requirements.
- Document maintenance activities, system readings, and repair actions in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency electrical/cooling/power issues as required.
