Chef/Cook – Cumberland Crossing Manor

 

McCandless, PA – Full-time; Hourly, Non-exempt; Rotating Schedule between 6 AM – 2:30 PM and 11 AM – 7:30pm, 40 hours per week

 

Starting Pay: $18.75/hour - $22.00/hour; Depending on experience, Eligible for up to a $500 Sign on Bonus

The Chef/Cook is responsible for preparing the center plate portion of the menu in large quantities for residents.  Responsibilities include cleaning assignments to maintain standards of sanitation, stocking supplies, and taking/recording food temperatures.

Requirements for the Chef/Cook:

 

  • Have at least 2 years of quantity food cooking experience; Long-term care experience is preferred and a degree from an accredited culinary school is a plus.
  • Serve Save Certified preferred; must complete within 3 months of hire.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and volume.
  • Possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with both residents and team members.
  • Demonstrate excellent teamwork.
  • Have good attention to detail and time management
