VP, Pharma Business Development

About the Role:

As the Vice President of Pharma Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of AeroSafe Global. Reporting directly to the Head of Sales, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to identify, cultivate, and secure new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical industry.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Market Analysis – conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, potential customers, and growth opportunities within the pharmaceutical cold chain sector.
  • Business Strategy – Develop and execute comprehensive account-based business development strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Insight-Led Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive account-based Challenger strategies that move customers away from the status quo by delivering unique commercial insights.
  • Customer Engagement – Build and maintain strong relationships with key pharmaceutical industry stakeholders within pharmaceutical manufacturers.
  • Analytical Storytelling: Exceptional ability to use data to tell a compelling story that disrupts traditional thinking in pharmaceutical packaging and distribution.
  • Sales Pipeline Management – Lead the development and management of a robust sales pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of qualified leads and opportunities.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration – Collaborate closely with the product development/engineering and operations teams to ensure alignment with customer needs and market demands.
  • Reporting and Analysis – Regularly report on sales activities, forecasts, and results, through HubSpot (CRM), providing actionable insights to senior management.
  • Compliance – Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance requirements related to pharmaceutical packaging and distribution.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of successful business development experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare distribution industry.
  • Preferred experience with the Challenger Sale Methodology.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and quotas.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with revenue deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office and CRM software are a plus.

Travel: Approximately 50% as needed to travel to trade shows or customer locations.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, candidate will be required to sit and walk around; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls (some repetitive motion); and talk or hear. Also, occasionally will be required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch and lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
