Your Role
As a key member of the team, you will work closely with leadership and internal and external stakeholders to oversee the management and operation of our facilities across Eastern Canada. This portfolio includes one of our primary sites, the TBC (1.6 million sq. ft.), as well as several other locations between Ontario and the Maritimes. You will also maintain regular liaison with your counterparts in Western Canada.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for our real estate service providers, CBC/Radio-Canada business units, landlords and tenants, ensuring all operations align with CBC/Radio-Canada’s rules, policies and standards.
In this role, you will interpret and manage the expectations of both internal and external clients while ensuring the cost-effective and efficient use of CBC/Radio-Canada facilities. You will be responsible for making decisions that have a direct or indirect impact on internal services across one or more regions simultaneously.
As our Senior Advisor, Property Management, your responsibilities will include the following:
Real Estate Management
Provide expert support and oversee service provider compliance for all work within your remit, collaborating closely with the Director, Real Estate Operations.
Identify and approve emergency repairs, and monitor issues and trends to support informed decision-making.
Act as a subject matter expert regarding business unit operational schedules and their impact on on-site interventions and projects.
Develop, validate and implement processes to drive continuous improvement for our services, facilities and projects to maximize portfolio value.
Maintain effective, collaborative business relationships and ensure alignment among all internal and external stakeholders.
Conduct benchmarking and comparative evaluations of provided or contracted services.
Propose service-level requirements to real estate leadership when procurement processes are launched.
Evaluate and resolve complex problems through in-depth analysis of the business context and needs.
Project Management
Collaborate with project teams to identify needs affecting sites under your responsibility, prioritizing tasks based on risk assessment and value creation.
Support the delivery of complex, long-term projects, ensuring they are tracked and monitored in co-ordination with contracted suppliers.
Co-ordinate and facilitate work execution with all internal and external stakeholders.
Performance Management
Review budget forecasts at the intervals determined by Finance, and administer and monitor expenses. Provide clear, concise financial information to departmental management.
Monitor service provider performance to ensure that contracted requirements and deliverables are met.
Prepare and submit reports and supporting documentation to the real estate leadership team; manage key milestones and performance action plans, ensuring deliverables meet agreed-upon deadlines.
This is a hybrid position with a mix of remote and in-office work requiring two days (flexible) per week in the office. Work arrangements will be discussed with the hiring manager per departmental guidelines.
What You Bring:
Qualifications:
University education, preferably in a field related to operations management.
Five (5) or more years’ experience in real estate operations.
Professional designation such as CPM, FMA or a related certification in commercial construction is an asset.
Proficiency in MS Office and a strong working knowledge of Google Workspace.
