Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Senior Purchaser to own procurement execution, vendor performance, and supply reliability across multiple states and facilities.
This role goes beyond purchase order execution and is responsible for:
Managing and improving vendor performance
Ensuring consistent product availability across the network
Driving cost discipline and operational efficiency
Identifying and resolving supply risks proactively
The Senior Purchaser plays a critical role in protecting revenue, controlling costs, and ensuring the supply chain operates reliably at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Execution
Own end-to-end purchase order process (creation, tracking, delivery)
Ensure timely and accurate ordering aligned with planning inputs
Manage high-volume purchasing across multiple facilities and product categories
Vendor Management & Performance
Own relationships with key vendors and suppliers
Monitor vendor performance (fill rate, lead times, reliability)
Identify underperforming vendors and drive corrective actions
Negotiate pricing, terms, and service levels where appropriate
Supply Reliability & Risk Management
Ensure consistent product availability across all locations
Identify supply risks (delays, shortages, quality issues) and proactively mitigate
Coordinate closely with Inventory Planning to prevent stockouts
Escalate and resolve critical supply issues quickly
Cost Management & Optimization
Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved purchasing efficiency
Support pricing and cost structure improvements
Maintain discipline around order quantities, pricing accuracy, and vendor terms
Cross-Functional Coordination
Partner with Inventory Planning to align ordering with demand forecasts
Coordinate with Warehouse & Logistics on inbound shipments and timing
Support Finance with cost, inventory, and vendor-related data
Process Improvement
Identify inefficiencies in purchasing workflows and implement improvements
Standardize vendor communication and ordering processes
Improve PO cycle time and reduce errors

Stockout rate % (in partnership with Planning)
Cost savings / cost improvement %

Qualifications
5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience
Experience managing vendor relationships and performance
Strong organizational and execution skills in high-volume environments
Experience in multi-location or regulated industries preferred
Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets
ERP or purchasing system experience required
