SUMMARY: An Engine Apprentice supports engine maintenance activities by assisting with disassembly, cleaning, and parts organization while gaining foundational knowledge within a Part 145 MRO environment. This role is designed for those currently enrolled, or recently completed, an FAA-certified Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) program and working towards their license. An Engine Apprentice must possess a strong mechanical inclination and a proactive drive to develop technical expertise and a long-term career within the aviation industry.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist senior technicians with basic shop tasks such as tool preparation, engine cleaning, tool organization and component handling.
- Shadow experienced A&P technicians to observe proper techniques in disassembly, inspection and repair.
- Learn and adhere to company polices and procedures, including safety procedures and maintenance best practices.
- Actively participate in on-the-job training (OJT) and site-specific safety programs to advance technical skill levels.
- Develop proficiency with aviation specialized tools, technical manuals, and shop workflows.
- Assist with documenting maintenance activities and checklists under direct supervision.
- Develop proficiency with aviation specialized tools, technical manuals, and shop workflows.
- Attend technical training sessions and consistently apply newly acquired skills
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
