Material Program Manager (MPM)
Location: Houston, TX 77064 (onsite)
The Materials Program Manager (MPM) orchestrates the supply chain, material planning, and readiness for manufacturing to ensure on-time production builds, overseeing the materials requirements for a specific program from inception to end-of-life , bridge engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to manage costs, inventory, and supply risks from development through end-of-life conducting materials risk assessments, lead-time profiling for new products, and managing all aspects of materials activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and mentor junior Materials Program Managers (MPMs) and oversee all materials-related activities for assigned programs.
- Develop and implement strategies to meet customer needs and ensure alignment across all teams.
- Effectively communicate material requirements and timelines to all involved parties.
- Ensure timely delivery of products, meeting customer deadlines.
- Oversee supplier management to avoid delays and ensure the timely arrival of materials.
- Manage materials costs, ensuring cost control measures are in place and adhered to.
- Handle excess and obsolete material management.
- Coordinate materials quotation activities to meet both customer deadlines and company profitability goals.
- Provide regular materials status updates to cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and timely responses.
- Manage materials pipelining and transition processes to ensure a smooth shift from the NPI facility to the production facility
- Education: BS degree in a technical field or business is required ( MBA is a plus.)
- Experience: At least 10 years of experience in materials management or supplier management.
- APICS certification is desirable.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and people skills, with the ability to collaborate cross functionally.
