Description

Job Summary:

The Marketing Associate provides support to the Marketing Director, specifically in analyzing and inputting policy information, coverage information, general underwriting data and communicates with Marketing Analysts, Client Relationship Managers, and Account Managers. The Commercial Lines Marketing Associate performs all other essential functions noted below, while meeting the quality and service standards developed by the agency.


Essential Functions:

  • Applies knowledge and underwriting skills to create new business and remarketing submissions.
  • Interacts with Account Managers, Client Relationship Managers, and Marketing Analysts (in person, via telephone, or email) to discuss information required to generate new business and remarketing submissions. 
  • Receives policies and/or underwriting information from Account Managers or Client Relationship Managers and creates or makes any necessary updates to EPIC Acord apps and other underwriting items to submit/bridge/rate with carriers for quoting.
  • Follows-up with Account Managers, Client Relationship Managers, and producers during marketing/remarketing process to obtain information to complete underwriting file, requests from Producers/Account Executives or assigned CRM and/or Account Manager and forwards to the Marketing Analyst.
  • Assists with new business proposal and may assist with producing remarketed proposal if carrier is different from incumbent carrier. 
  • Responsible to obtain all necessary information to create a full submission, including supplemental applications, loss runs, mod worksheets, narratives, and any additional underwriting requirements. 
  • Identifies missing coverages to improve prospect or client insurance program and provides recommendations to Marketing Analyst. 
  • Process all submission transactions as needed assuring that all items are handled in a timely manner, are accurate, and reflect the established agency procedures. This includes, but not limited to, 
  • Policy and underwriting data entry into EPIC
  • Attaching applicable documents related to submissions or remarkets into appropriate activities
  • Communicating with Marketing Analysts when a full submission or remarket is finalized and ready for submission to carriers
  • Coach and mentor team members on technical, procedural and relationship skills.
  • Assists Director of Marketing with any special projects/other duties as assigned.
  • Invoicing and preparing IPFS finance agreements.
  • Prepare Loss Summaries.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing with others to explain underwriting needs, receive and interpret complex information, and respond appropriately.
  • Knowledge of insurance products, markets, rating, and underwriting procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of one (1) years of experience in the insurance industry, preferred by not required.
  • A current Property & Casualty Agents License, preferred by not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.   
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, listen, and observe. Specifically, the employee must be able to communicate clearly on the telephone with others.  
  • This position frequently communicates with clients who have inquiries about their policy, invoicing, and claims. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. This includes repeating motions that involve the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Limited physical effort required or exposure to physical risk. However, must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
