DEFINITION:
Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the Nursing Services Department, its programs and activities.  Develop, maintain and periodically update written nursing policies, procedures, manuals, objectives, and philosophies.  Complete medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charts, etc.  Implement plans of action to correct deficiencies and maintain quality assurance programs.  Participates in surveys and inspection by government agencies.  Report recommendations to the Administrator concerning operation of the department.  Participate in interviewing and screening residents for admission to the facility.  Informs personnel of new admissions, ensures that rooms are ready, greets new admissions and escort to rooms.  Monitor residents’ treatment to ensure residents are receiving proper care.  Recruits, interviews, hires, counsels, evaluates, disciplines and terminates nursing services personnel.  Schedule Department work hours, including vacation and holiday schedules, shift work and assignments etc. to ensure adequate staffing and expedite work.   

EDUCATION:  

Associates Degree in Nursing required.  Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred.
 
REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS (IF APPLICABLE): 

Current Oklahoma Nursing License.
 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Minimum three years of Nurse Manager experience.
 
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Long term care nursing experience preferred.
