What you will be doing:
  • Provide overall leadership for bridges and structural work on the project
  • Lead pre-construction and construction work related to structures work in collaboration with design team lead and client team lead for structures
  • Chair regular working group meetings and coordinate matters related to budget, schedule, design progress, permitting, construction planning, subcontract procurement in the pre-construction phase
  • Demonstrate leadership in health and safety in the pre-construction, planning, and execution phase
  • Ensure the work related to structures is planned and executed in a manner consistent with contract requirements and client expectations
  • Establish financial and schedule goals for the structures discipline
  • Lead a culture of accountability in fulfilling commitments
  • Establish the process for tracking and reporting progress on various issues and aspects of the structure's work in the pre-construction and construction phases.
  • Lead the development of construction plan, sequence and staging 
  • Identify and plan temporary work requirements
  • Identify and coordinate timing and scope interfaces with other disciplines 
  • Ensure the implementation of the Safety Program to create a safe work environment throughout the job site and adhere to the safety and record-keeping requirements
  • Ensure adherence to project Quality and Environmental management requirements
  • Manage subcontracts responsible for delivering the scope in the structures discipline
  • Participate in meetings with clients, subcontracted engineering firms, suppliers, operators and project owner
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by the Construction Manager or as required for successful project completion
  • Timely communication and resolution of issues
What we are looking for:
  • Bachelors’ degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • PEng. license in the Province of Ontario will be considered an asset
  • Minimum 15 years of experience, with demonstrated experience in Structural work 
  • Experience in heavy civil infrastructure projects is required
  • Experience in large transit infrastructure projects is preferred
  • Experience working in the rail corridor 
  • Experience in bridges and retaining walls construction projects 
  • Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, engineering drawings and other documents
  • Project management skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the financial performance of a discipline or department
  • Ability to maintain functional working relationships subcontractors
  • Proven leadership, communication and negotiation skills

CAD $175,000.00/Yr.
