PPI Quality & Engineering is a global provider of quality assurance and inspection services supporting the energy industry, and is expanding its Quality Control team with experienced QC Specialists. In this role, you will perform and witness inspections and testing activities to ensure compliance with industry codes, customer specifications, and PPI Quality & Engineering procedures.
You will verify equipment calibration, confirm technician certifications, and produce clear, accurate inspection reports that support informed decision-making. Acting as the customer’s representative at supplier and fabrication sites, you will promote safe work practices, communicate inspection results to project coordinators and stakeholders, and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for a detail-driven professional who values precision, accountability, and operational excellence in quality execution.
- Witness inspections and testing per inspection test plans, quality plans, industry standards, supplier and customer requirements
- Verify inspection, measurement, and test equipment is calibrated/certified and meets all job related requirements
- Validate technician certification(s) are current for the intended scope of activity
- As the Customer Representative, work in a professional manner with Suppliers in regards to scheduling, deliveries, and overall job execution
- Generate reports documenting rejection and acceptance of inspections and testing activities
- Generate clear, concise, and accurate reports documenting rejection and acceptance of activities under surveillance
- Meet or exceed HSSE objectives of customer and Supplier, as well as PPI safety guidelines
- Communicate (via email or phone) job progression and inspection results to PPI and Customer as required
- Promote safe work practices; for example, utilize all PPE required by the immediate work area, comply with Supplier safety practices while at Supplier locations, etc.
- Ensure that purchasing of equipment comply with CR-OT-DW-350; Check all PO and SO to confirm matching with QAQC MS.
- Interface with Methods & Performance team for manufacturing QAQC standards and potential issues on delivery.
- Ensure technical / quality receiving inspection of goods while received from vendors.
- Define proper technical specifications for relevant storage of DW equipment’s, as per recommendations.
- Follows up Preparation, Testing and Loadout of equipment & materials stored at the site for Drilling & Completion operations.
- Prepare and implement QA/QC (API Q2) plan and procedures in line with company and industry standards for management of Equipment and Materials at Company and 3rd party location prior to issuance for operations and during receiving inspection after operations.
- Assist with Incident Investigation and Trouble shooting at company and 3rd Party sites for equipment designated for operations prior to issuance and after operations.
- Implement / Enforce and update Service Quality Plans (SQP) as per the API Q2 or similar standard and as per the service criticality requirement for all service contracts.
- Promote / follow API Q2 audit plan for all the service contracts. (Schedule, objectives)
- Before equipment mobilization to the RIGs: Set a release process under client platform to confirm that equipment is ready to be used (Final Released Note) from stock or from Other Customer Suppliers.
- Provide monthly reporting to OT/TL/DW/OPS/QAQC.
- At least 7 years general working experience on Oil and Gas Industry.
- At least 5 years of relevant QAQC experience: QAQC inspector / Assembly & Test Engineer / Workshop Manager / Materials Management and Logistics / technical inspection and Audit roles for Drilling & Wells Equipment and Services.
- Very Knowledgeable in Drilling & Completion Engineering / Operations, Well interventions and Well integrity with relevant technical experience with Onshore and Offshore Drilling / Wells Services, at workshop or operational roles (Bits, Directional Drilling & Measurement tools, Subsea WH Running Tools, OCTG and Cementing equipment, Fishing tools, Completion Equipment, Well test equipment, Bulk plants, Liquid Plants, Drilling and Completion Fluids, etc)
- Good knowledge of QA/QC and Inspection procedures and Standards, Stock management, Materials handling and Logistics. Membership of relevant Inspection and Technical audit bodies is desirable.
- Has in-depth knowledge and experience in QA/QC and Inspection technologies, and techniques (MPI, DPT, UST, EC, etc.)
- Clearly understand the application of various inspection standards & codes (API, ASTM, ASNT, DS-1, etc) in defining rejection criteria after inspection.
- Good knowledge of Relevant Regulatory Authorities and Agencies in the Oil and Gas industry
- Has good knowledge of all Drilling & Wells Onshore and Offshore roles and can interact with the appropriate level of detail.
- Practitioner certification for APIQ2
- Fluent in English.
- Spanish, Portuguese and French, appreciated.
