Job Summary:

VetPride Services is seeking individuals with basic experience with equipment operation and repair to support the Southwest Region Fleet Transportation (SWRFT) in MCAS (Marine Corps Air Station) Miramar. The Non-Tactical Equipment (NTE) mechanic helper will provide equipment checks, services, cleaning, refueling, and minor repairs on non-tactical mobile equipment. NTE to be serviced include, but is not limited to, forklifts, warehouse tractors, low speed electric carts, warehouse sweepers, trailers, and similar support equipment. 

Qualifications/Skills: 

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Will be subject to a pre-employment criminal background and DMV check.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Consistent attendance and reliability required.
• Ability to effectively read, write, and speak English.
• Must have the ability to work independently and within established guidelines, follow directions, and work well with others.
• Ability to operate equipment safely, exercise safe work practices, and maintain a safe work environment.
• Ability to properly handle and store HazMat and properly dispose of HazWaste.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• Valid/Current Driver’s License.
• Sufficient basic equipment operation and repair experience.

Physical Requirements: 

• Must be able to lift 45 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Must be able to perform a moderate and repeated amount of pushing, walking, standing, crawling, kneeling, bending, and climbing.
