Job Description

The Communication Strategy Student supports the Online Education and Educational Technology (OEET) team in advancing initiatives that promote the effective use of educational technology in teaching, learning, and research. In this role, the student is responsible for developing engaging digital content that highlights and supports the work of the OEET team. 

Leadership Responsibilities:  

● Leading the end-to-end resource migration for the departmental rebrand, ensuring all outward-facing assets meet new visual and tonal standards. 

● Designing and implementing student worker-related departmental workflows, such as the DXA Student Offboarding Process, to standardize transitions and retain institutional knowledge. 

● Leading website, social media and other digital asset audits and peer reviews to identify friction points and proposing strategic solutions to full-time staff. 

● Taking high-level data from workshops and meetings to create actionable summaries, persona cards, and strategic recommendations for the program’s web presence. 

Project Responsibilities:  

● Systematically auditing and updating all training materials, help documentation, and digital templates to align with new branding guidelines. 

●  Executing website audits and content lifecycle assessments to determine archival needs and ensure a streamlined digital presence. 

● Collaborating on the scripting and production of promotional videos with Media DXA student and high-fidelity digital assets (e.g., Zoom backgrounds, workshop graphics).

● Curating and vetting resources and LinkedIn Learning pathways to supplement faculty professional development. 

● Managing the collection of staff information for web updates and executing program-wide outreach, including engagement surveys and event logistics.

 ● Identifying and mapping professional development resources to ensure faculty-facing materials remain current and professional. 

● Creating necessary promotional materials for office events. 

Preferred Qualifications:  

● Sophomore standing or higher  

● Ability to multitask and meet deadlines 

● Effective communication and technical problem-solving skills  

● Ability to work independently and in a team setting  

● Strong leadership and organizational skills  

● Willingness to learn new technologies and stay up to date on industry trends  

● Experience creating digital content  

● Knowledge of social media platforms  

About the Digital Transformation Ambassador (DXA) Program:  

Digital Transformation Ambassadors (DXA) is a student employment program within the Online Education and Educational Technology office (OEET). DXA Students are broadly trained across a spectrum of digital tools and strategies. This broad training equips students with a diverse skill set that will benefit them in countless ways as they embark on their future careers. 

Our DXA students answer faculty technology questions, lead classroom instruction sessions, remediate inaccessible course materials, assist with video production, and more. 

Hours: 

The minimum hours per week for this position is 10 hours.   

Compensation: 

$14 an hour
