Job Description

Location: Benson Digital Learning Center (BDLC)


Reports To: BDLC Principal


State Date:  07/15/2026

Closing Date:  Open until filled

 

TERMS & BENEFITS: 10 month position, 40 hours/week; medical, dental, vision, life benefits; 403(b); 10 sick days and 2 personal days; preschool/child care discounts; mandatory participation in Arizona State Retirement System.



 


QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have high school diploma or equivalent AND minimum of 3-6 months experience in childcare, education or working with children in related activities.  Must possess strong reading, writing and math skills.  If applicant does not have an Associates degree, then applicant must be able to pass a Highly Qualified paraprofessional test.


 


SUMMARY: Assists in maintaining a well-organized, smooth functioning classroom and school environment, while guiding students through a successful school experience by providing encouragement and supportive intervention.


 




ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES shall include, but not be limited to, the following:



  • Observes and monitors control of students’ behavior in the classroom and other areas. 



  • Supervises large and small groups of students.



  • Establishes, maintains and promotes a classroom atmosphere which ensures the emotional and physical safety and well-being of students and emphasizes mutual respect, self-worth, self-discipline, cooperation, consideration and responsibility.



  • Assesses student needs and develops, implements and evaluates daily lesson plans for students to include scheduled activities and materials.



  • Assists with implementation of student individual education plan (IEP) or a student 504 accommodation plan.



  • Modifies instruction of program to meet the needs of each child.



  • Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.



  • Must be able to work with a diverse population, including those with various individual needs.



  • Perform other duties as assigned
