What You’ll Do
The ESE Paraprofessional position encompasses contact with students with different disabling conditions. To perform varied education work assisting with and supporting classroom instructional and management activities, which are assigned by a “highly qualified” teacher.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Assist teacher in classroom/student management.
Assist by providing appropriate feedback and reinforcers (tokens, praise) to students within an established behavioral strategy plan.
Assist in the recording of student behaviors, progress and other related data.
Assist in the supervision of children during lunch periods, recess, and with other professionals who work directly with the children.
Assist students to stay on task and complete teacher prepared tasks.
Assemble and maintain instructional equipment and materials.
Prepare classroom materials for the teacher.
Perform various instructional support tasks as assigned to facilitate the effective teaching of applicable subject matter and to maintain appropriate classroom environment. (9) Distribute and collect instructional materials and monitor student’s progress on learning activities.

Provide directions and instructions for performing a lesson or exercise and answer questions pertaining to such.
Proctor and grades examinations or lessons and enter results into the appropriate classroom records.
Assist individual students through drill and practice sessions to acquire and strengthen previously taught concepts, skills and learning programs to ensure procedural correctness and maximum understanding.
Assist in managing student’s classroom conduct and behavior and inform teachers of incidents, circumstances or factors having a bearing upon effective learning.
Supervise students in specified situations, i.e., lunchroom, media center, computer lab, etc.
May be assigned to perform varied clerical duties such as filing, copying, basic computer work and operation of other office type equipment.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma certificate (GED).
Preferred paraprofessional credentials include a qualifying district score of 464 on the paraprofessional assessment, an Associate’s degree or higher, or a minimum of 60 college semester hours.
