Veterinary Assistants are a vital part of our veterinary clinic healthcare team delivering high-quality, Fear-Free healthcare in a compassionate and collaborative environment. This position is structured in compliance with Illinois law, including Illinois HB 3360.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct all animal interactions following Fear Free methodology (training provided).
• Assist veterinarians with blood draws, catheter placement, medication & vaccine prep, and injections (SQ/IM/IV). Attend to anesthesia and surgical procedures, including patient prep, monitoring, and recovery.
• Maintain accurate and updated medical records with timely documentation.  
• Respond to client and team requests with professionalism and efficiency.
• Collaborate with clinic staff to support patient care and efficient clinic operations.

What You Bring

• 1–2 years of veterinary clinic experience.  
• Availability: weekdays (morning, afternoon, evenings), weekends, and non-standard hours as needed.
• Confidence handling animals of different sizes, temperaments, and medical needs.
• Receptive to learning and improving technical skills.
• Strong multitasking and time management skills.
• Ability to stay composed in high-energy or emotional situations.
