About the Department
This position is for the Transitional Living Facility and under the direction of the charge nurse and LPN, monitors the patient's physical and emotional well-being and reports unusual behavior or physical ailments to the appropriate staff. Provides nursing, psychiatric and personal care to mentally ill forensic patients. Encourages residents to develop work skills and to participate in social, recreational and other therapeutic activities that enhance interpersonal skills and develop social and therapeutic relationships. Also supervises residents on approved outings, Responsible for documenting information regarding patient care and behavior. Performs related duties as required. Mandatory overtime is an essential function of this position. Applicants selected must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and a breath analysis drug screening test. All employees shall be subject to drug and alcohol testing as for probable cause as set forth in agency & bureau policies. Selected applicants must successfully complete a background check. This is a tobacco free campus.
This position is eligible for an appointment incentive of $5000.00 to the selected applicant who agrees to work for the facility for a minimum period of twelve (12) months.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: | High school diploma or the equivalent. |
Licensure/Certifications: | None. |
Experience: | One (1) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid or volunteer experience in the care, treatment and development of patients or residents of a healthcare facility. |
Internal Applicants: | Six (6) months of experience as a Patient Monitor or Patient Care Technician may substitute for the required education and experience. |
Substitution Information: Additional education may substitute for the required experience based on a year-for-year basis or as determined by the Office of Shared Administration Equivalency Chart.
