Description

The Product Owner serves as the critical link between business needs, technical teams, and stakeholders. You will drive the software development lifecycle by scoping requirements, translating business needs into actionable deliverables, and ensuring alignment across stakeholders for successful product delivery. 


Responsibilities and Duties 

Product Ownership 

  • Translate business needs and technical issues into portfolio initiatives and features, with clear acceptance criteria, and actionable deliverables. 
  • Translate business and user needs into requirements for the development teams. 
  • Review requirements, specifications, and recommendations to ensure the feasibility and alignment of solutions. 
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback, trends, and competitor offerings to inform product direction. 

Backlog Management 

  • Own, define, and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and stakeholder expectations, ensuring to maximize value.  
  • Create clear, actionable features with acceptance criteria to guide development teams. 

Stakeholder Collaboration 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment on goals and priorities. 
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal teams to analyze needs and deliver artifacts. 
  • Partner with managers and stakeholders to prioritize requests and maintain focus for development teams. 

User Experience Advocacy 

  • Work closely with UX/UI teams to deliver intuitive, user-friendly designs. 
  • Champion the end-user by keeping their needs at the forefront of decision-making. 

Performance Monitoring 

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success. 
  • Conduct post-launch reviews to gather insights and drive continuous improvement. 

Agile Development Support 

  • Partner with IT Leadership, developers, and designers to ensure smooth sprint planning and execution. 

Release & Training Support 

  • Assist in the testing, validation, and demonstration of new product releases. 
  • Document how to complete new features based on team recommendations. 
  • Create training materials and documentation for technology changes and provide training to internal departments as needed. 
  • Lead demonstrations of new features to internal teams, including Support, Implementation, CRM, and Sales. 

Compliance & Continuous Improvement 

  • Ensure processes align with ISO standards and maintain documentation of procedures. 
  • Seek out opportunities for training, development, and research to enhance skills and knowledge. 
  • Support company mission, principles, and goals. 

Requirements

Education 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Fields: Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related disciplines; Preferred 
  • 3-5+ years experience in related roles, Required 
  • Business Analyst, Product Manager 
  • Certification in one or more of the following, Required 
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (SAFe POPM) 

Specific skills 

  • Experience with tools and methodologies relevant to product development 
  • Product/Project Tools: Jira, Confluence, Rally, Aha! 
  • Product Analytics: Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Pendo. 
  • Prototyping: Figma, Axure, Balsamiq. 

Physical abilities 

  • Ability to travel occasionally for industry events or customer visits. 
  • Ability to work in-office.
