POSITION SUMMARY
Provide for the scheduled therapeutic recreational programming for individual patients and groups. These duties are generally performed alone, but occasionally as part of a team in harmony, in accordance with assignment instructions from supervisor.

EDUCATION/TRAINING EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation or related field, such as: Music, Art, Occupation Therapy
- One to two years related experience and/or training
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
- CTRS or related certification required
- First Aid, CPR
- SAMA
THE ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION
- Provide for the general supervision of Recreation Intern positions and conduct intern interviews, performance evaluations of interns, as appropriate
- Monitor the program’s milieu and intervenes as necessary to maintain standards of patient care
- Ensures that timeliness and quality of TR assessment procedures meet or exceed established program standards
- Demonstrate the ability to adapt activity and/or equipment to facilitate participation in all therapeutic recreation programs
- Provide timely documentation of services that meet or exceed Center standards
- Transport, set up and operate sporting equipment for activities. Store and maintain supplies and equipment
- Provide for supervision of department in absence of Lead
- Trains new personnel, as directed
- Provides input and offers suggestions on programs to maximize participation, accommodate specific needs and developmental level
- Prepare for assigned groups in advance - set up activity and clean up
- Instruct and lead TR groups utilizing purposeful activities that are individualized according to patient goals as directed and prescribed in treatment plan
- Provide for administrative duties associated with the implementation of programs and services in coordination with TR Lead
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with, and is responsive to, internal and external customers
- Communicate with supervisor and units all changes in schedule, programs and special events
