Job Description For Warehouse Foreman
Position Summary
The Warehouse Foreman is responsible for managing warehouse staff and operations to ensure efficient workflow, appropriate staffing, inventory accuracy, and compliance with safety and company standards. The primary duty of this role is management, including personnel decisions and operational oversight, rather than the performance of routine warehouse labor.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and direct warehouse personnel, including scheduling, work assignment, performance management, and accountability.
- Exercise authority over staffing decisions, including hiring, discipline, promotion, and termination of warehouse associates, and determining appropriate labor allocation to meet business needs.
- Ensure the warehouse is sufficiently and efficiently staffed through performance analysis, workforce planning, and corrective action when necessary.
- Oversee and direct warehouse operations (receiving, storage, inventory control, fulfillment, and shipping) through subordinate staff to ensure accuracy, productivity, and timeliness.
- Establish and enforce safety, compliance, and operational standards in accordance with company policy and OSHA requirements.
- Ensure inventory controls, systems, and staff practices result in accurate inventory records, forecasting, and documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement by evaluating processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing productivity and quality improvements.
- Coach, develop, and evaluate employees to maintain a high‑performing and engaged team.
- Partner with cross‑functional leaders (operations, logistics, supply chain) to align warehouse performance with business objectives.
