As the Electrical Lead (2IC), you’ll take ownership of the electrical systems that power next-generation, mission-critical data centers running at massive scale. This is a high-impact role where your expertise directly enables 24/7 uptime for advanced AI and high-performance compute infrastructure. You’ll solve complex electrical challenges, make real-time decisions when it matters most, and drive safety, reliability, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment where the stakes are high and the impact is visible. Job requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician License required.
  • Minimum 10 years of electrical experience, including at least 4 years in leadership or senior technical authority role, preferably in industrial, utility, or mission-critical environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, protection systems, and backup power systems (generators, UPS, battery systems).
  • Demonstrated experience working alongside or overseeing high-voltage operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical one-lines, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with electrical testing, monitoring, and diagnostic tools.
  • NFPA 70E certification required.
  • OSHA 10 certification required (OSHA 30 preferred).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-management capabilities.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with an unwavering commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment, including lifting up to 50 lbs, working in confined spaces, and performing tasks at elevated heights.

Other important requirements:  

  • Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies. 
  • Must provide own steel-toed work boots; other PPE will be supplied.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to the work site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.
  • Must be comfortable working a rotational schedule, which includes day and night shifts as well as weekend work, based on project needs.
  • Employees working night shifts will receive a 15% premium added to their hourly rate only for hours worked during night shifts.

Job responsibilities

  • Serve as the site electrical authority for all power systems, from utility interconnection and substations through distribution to compute and cooling loads.
  • Own overall electrical system performance, availability, and risk management.
  • Establish site-level electrical strategies to support capacity growth, reliability targets, and operational excellence.
  • Lead and support the Electrical Maintenance Lead by providing technical guidance, prioritization, and mentorship.
  • Provide direction and oversight to electrical teams to ensure alignment with site standards, safety expectations, and operational goals.
  • Drive a strong safety culture through leadership, accountability, and example.
  • Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies across all electrical systems.
  • Review and approve maintenance plans, switching procedures, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) practices, and outage coordination activities.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex electrical issues, failures, and incident response.
  • Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders on substation operations, switching activities, and major maintenance events.
  • Serve as the primary site liaison for utilities, OEMs, testing vendors, and third-party inspectors.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations (NEC, NFPA 70E, NERC, OSHA).
  • Collaborate with engineering and construction teams on electrical upgrades, expansions, new equipment integration, and load growth planning.
  • Review electrical designs, one-lines, and equipment specifications for constructability, safety, and operational risk.
  • Support commissioning activities and the successful turnover of new electrical infrastructure into operations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all electrical safety programs, including arc flash mitigation and LOTO requirements.
  • Review incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans.
  • Maintain oversight of documentation, CMMS data, maintenance records, and operational performance reporting.

Compensation 

  • The expected hourly rate is $55.00 USD.
    • Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications.
  • Competitive wages with robust per diem and project allowance, when applicable 
  • 15% night-shift premium for eligible roles, when applicable
  • Overtime compensation for non-exempt workers for hours worked over 40 per week
