    Director of Curriculum 

    Primary Purpose

    To lead, manage, and evaluate the district's curriculum, instructional programs, and staff development to ensure high-quality instruction and improve student achievement. 

    Key Responsibilities

    • Curriculum Management: Oversee the development, implementation, and revision of K-12 curriculum documents, guides, and assessments to ensure alignment with TEKS.
    • Instructional Leadership: Monitor and evaluate instructional programs, providing feedback and assistance to teachers and administrators to improve pedagogy.
    • Data Analysis: Use student assessment data, benchmarks, and stakeholder input to determine curriculum effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
    • Staff Development: Design and deliver professional development initiatives for teachers and administrators that support district curriculum initiatives.
    • Budgeting: Develop, manage, and administer the curriculum and instruction budget, including textbooks and instructional materials.
    • Compliance: Ensure that all instructional programs comply with state and federal laws, State Board of Education rules, and local board policies.
    • Community Relations: Articulate the district's instructional philosophy to the community and parents. 

    Qualifications

    • Education: Master's degree in Education, Educational Administration, or related field.
    • Certification: Valid Texas Principal certification and T-TESS appraiser certification. (Superintendent certification preferred).
    • Experience: A minimum of three years of administrative/leadership experience in curriculum and instruction (Central Office experience preferred). 

    Necessary Knowledge and Skills

    • Deep knowledge of curriculum design, instructional strategies, and state assessment systems (STAAR, etc.).
    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
    • Proficiency in analyzing student performance data to guide instructional decisions.
