We emphasize employee well-being, a positive and well-functioning working environment, and a healthy work–life balance, supported by flexible working arrangements.

The Role & Your Impact

As a Research Scientist, you will play a key role in advancing new product development projects by translating scientific insight into practical, application-oriented solutions. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the development and characterization of enzyme-based products across multiple industries.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Working on research projects for new product development as part of cross-functional project teams with chemists and laboratory technicians across departments and countries

  • Translating project needs into actionable experimental campaigns

  • Planning and executing laboratory work in close collaboration with laboratory technicians

  • Performing experimental work with enzymes, including enzyme assays, screening, and protein characterization

  • Analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and communicating research results clearly and effectively

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A PhD within protein science (e.g., biochemistry, biophysics, or biotechnology) or a Master’s degree with equivalent relevant work experience

  • A strong scientific background with critical thinking skills and a proactive mindset

  • The ability to formulate experimental ideas based on diverse data, knowledge inputs, and application- or business-relevant project needs

  • Hands-on experience with protein chemistry, enzyme assays, biochemistry, and protein characterization

  • Strong communication skills, an open-minded and positive attitude, and a desire to achieve results together with others

  • Fluency in English, as you will work closely with colleagues of many different nationalities

Additional Skills & Interests We Value

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience working with proteins or other biologicals

  • Experience with analytical chromatography, assay automation, or robotic liquid-handling workstations

  • Familiarity with protein engineering and molecular biology

  • An interest in and flair for data analysis and working with large datasets, for example using scripting tools such as Python or JMP
