Machine Operator – Drive Precision and Power in Site Preparation and Steel Erection

Job Overview

The Opportunity

You will be a key contributor to our field operations, wielding heavy machinery to transform raw sites into project-ready foundations. This role offers the unique opportunity to support both high-stakes excavation and the specialized erection of pre-engineered metal buildings for a company with a 30-year legacy of stability.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Operate skid steers and mini-excavators to execute precise grading, trenching, and material handling tasks across diverse terrains.

  • Facilitate the erection of pre-engineered metal buildings by expertly maneuvering telehandlers to stage and set structural components.

  • Execute underground slab mechanical trenching and grading to ensure absolute compliance with foundation and drainage specifications.

  • Perform rigorous daily equipment inspections and routine servicing to maximize machine uptime and ensure field safety.

  • Interpret site plans and grade stakes accurately to translate architectural visions into physical reality.

  • Navigate tight or restricted job site environments to load, transport, and stage critical project materials without incident.

  • Collaborate with foremen and ground crews, switching to manual labor tasks when necessary to maintain project momentum and site cleanliness.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience operating skid steers, excavators, and telehandlers in a professional construction environment.

  • Strong technical understanding of grading, trenching, and the interpretation of elevations and site plans.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of crane signals and the ability to identify and mitigate overhead and underground utility hazards.

  • Commitment to OSHA compliance and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe workspace.

  • Physical stamina to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and a valid driver's license with a clean record.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Current OSHA safety certification.

  • Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

  • Mechanical aptitude for performing minor troubleshooting and field repairs on heavy equipment.
