Job Description

CGS is looking for an Operational Strategic Command (OSC) Operational Strategic Command (OSC) Common Operating Picture (COP) Manager to support the US Army's Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) at Fort Leavenworth, KS.

As the Opposing Forces (OPFOR) COP Manager, you'll develop, implement, and measure the effectiveness of plans and procedures for clients, creating rich content to help you tell a realistic story. You'll listen to client challenges and identify threats, gaps, or risks that need to be explored and provide a safe space for recommendations that will make lasting, real-world impact.

As a leader in the firm's Army Sector, you'll have the chance to work cross-functionally with planners and scenario developers on projects that are making an impact on critical missions. You'll share your expertise and collaborate with the industry's best trainers and coaches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain the current picture -
    • Update all COP tools with enemy and friendly unit locations, statuses, and readiness of friendly, adjacent, and threat forces; update the common operational picture and running estimates.
    • Track and confirm receipt of Exercise Control Group issued and coordinated tactical tasks, FRAGORDs, and immediate orders to the OSC staff.
    • Track and confirm receipt of OSC issued and coordinated tactical tasks, FRAGORDs, and immediate orders to division tactical group (DTG) command posts as well as the exercise control group (ECG).
    • Coordinate with the OSC Chief of Fires to ensure the OSC COP tools reflect all fire support coordination measures.
    • Coordinate with the OSC Chief of Operations and Chief of Current Operations to ensure OSC COP tools reflect all friendly and enemy maneuver graphics.
    • Assist the OSC staff with requests for information and ensure all reports are submitted on time in accordance with the exercise battle rhythm.
    • Attends Event Life Cycle (ELC) events as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience as a former field grade officer, warrant officer, or sergeant major.
  • Successfully served in a key developmental position at brigade/battalion level.
  • MEL 4 certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Army and Joint regulations and current doctrine.
  • Ability to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (up to 5% of the time).
  • BS/BA degree.
  • Active DOD Secret clearance is required.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • An advanced degree
  • Experience as a former Battalion or higher commander.
  • 20+ years of combat arms military experience.
  • Familiarity with FM 7-100 OPFOR Hybrid Threat doctrine.
  • Experience with Constructive Simulation Models (e.g., Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC), Warfighters Simulation (WARSIM)
  • Experience working with the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP).

Working Conditions: Inside Government training facilities.

Required Travel: Employees will travel to temporary work locations during exercises.

Job Type: Part-Time On-Call, Exempt

Contract Length: More than 1 year
