Summary

Responsibilities

  • Work with other staff members to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Create designs for new database development and/or changes to existing ones.
  • Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues.
  • Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Monitor, optimize and allocate physical data storage for database systems.
  • Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to databases.
  • Perform database transaction and security audits.
  • Establish appropriate end-user database access control levels.
  • Provide informal guidance to more junior team members.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in Information Technology and/or IT Architecture and Engineering

Additional Qualifications

  • Working and conceptual knowledge of database architecture and management
  • Strong technical aptitude including knowledge of integraion with multiple technologies, architectures and operational standards
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Information technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology Management, or related field

Physical Requirements

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
