Job Description

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Administer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatments in accordance with physician orders and established clinical protocols.
  2. Ensure proper patient setup, coil positioning, and accurate delivery of treatment parameters.
  3. Monitor patient safety, comfort, and response throughout all treatment sessions.
  4. Perform or assist in motor threshold determination in accordance with established protocols and clinical guidance.
  5. Assist in or conduct TMS mapping procedures to ensure accurate treatment targeting.
  6. Accurately document all treatment sessions, including parameters, patient response, and any adverse events.
  7. Maintain strict adherence to all safety protocols, including contraindication screening and risk management procedures.
  8. Educate patients on TMS procedures, expectations, and safety considerations.
  9. Establish rapport with patients to support engagement, comfort, and treatment adherence.
  10. Maintain treatment schedules and ensure efficient patient flow and session completion.
  11. Communicate effectively with clinical and medical staff regarding patient progress, concerns, or changes in status.
  12. Maintain and troubleshoot TMS equipment, including routine calibration checks and reporting of technical issues.
  13. Ensure cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the TMS treatment suite at all times.
  14. Assist with tracking program metrics, including attendance, completion rates, and patient progress.
  15. Participate in team meetings and provide updates on TMS operations and patient care.
  16. Collaborate with leadership to support program growth, efficiency, and quality improvement initiatives.
  17. Maintain compliance with all facility policies, regulatory standards, and clinical protocols.
  18. Complete all documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  19. Participate in continuing education and training related to TMS and neuromodulation practices.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  1. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  2. Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  3. Must be able to maintain focus during repetitive treatment sessions.
  4. Must be able to respond quickly in the event of patient discomfort or adverse reaction.
  5. Must be able to work flexible hours based on patient scheduling needs.

 

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, biology, or related field is preferred.
  2. Prior experience in a clinical, behavioral health, or medical setting is preferred.
  3. Experience with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy is preferred.
  4. Familiarity with MagVenture TMS systems and equipment is preferred.
  5. Experience performing or assisting with TMS mapping and motor threshold determination is preferred.
  6. Experience in substance use or mental health treatment settings is preferred.
  7. If in recovery, two years of uninterrupted sobriety preferred.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

  1. Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skill.
  2. Must be able to establish rapport with patients and patient’s family members.
  3. Must be educated in and familiar with scientific methods.
  4. Must be computer literate and able to work with Microsoft® applications and clinically relevant software programs.
  5. Must possess the willingness and capacity for growth, both personally and professionally.
  6. Must possess high degree of professionalism and treat sensitive clinical information ethically.
