Job Description

Deliverables:

Paper on crypto surveillance. The paper will investigate the extent to which stablecoins are used globally with a focus on testing basic finance properties such as triangular arbitrage, choice of vehicle currency, liquidity measures, hedging properties, and impact of infrastructure on market functioning. The paper will develop and use a novel dataset offering a global time series of price and volume data. Ultimately, the data and observed patterns will offer insights into macro trends in payments and currency use. 

Expected outputs and deadlines:

  • Outputs: same as above.

  • Deadlines: The paper will be written over the year and finalized by the Annual Meetings in October 2026
