Job Description

This position is for the 2025-2026 school year. 


 


 


ZMS is looking for a hard working, dedicated applicant that will work well with our special education students as well as our faculty and staff.  We're seeking someone that wants to work with students to help them improve their academic success and work with students to improve their social skills and confidence.


 


The position is available for 6.5 hours per day and 183 days per year.


(170 instructional days, 4 holidays, 7 planning days and 2 extended days)


Contracted days will be adjusted depending upon start date.

  • Must have 48 semester hours, an Associates Degree or have a high school diploma and have passed the paraeducator assessment exam.  Must provide a copy to HR upon recommendation to hire.


 Step 0:  $15.98


Step 10:  $19.67


 


New employees to the district may bring in up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience. (NOTE:  It will be the responsibility of the applicant hired to submit the BCPS verification of experience form to their prior employer to complete and return to HR.)


 


 


Although Classified positions are paid on an hourly rate, salary is set up on a year long contract and divided by the number of reamining paychecks.  This position is considered a ten month employee on the pay schedule.  4 paychecks will be paid at the end of June.
