Job Description

Job Summary:
The Sr Financial Planning Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the financial planning process. Helps compile, analyze, and present the company’s financial performance and financial outlook to finance leadership. Helps shape and tune financial processes.  


Responsibilities:
Prepares accurate and timely reporting, demonstrating attention to detail and a commitment to the end product. 

Sifts through commentary and standardized reporting to identify key drivers and synthesizes insights into company-level performance. 

Creates insightful and accurate reporting tools, processes, and ad hoc analyses with a focus on clear storytelling and action-oriented output. Generates materials directly for senior management and the board of directors and interfaces with senior finance leadership. 

Relentlessly drives continuous improvement. Looks for the next opportunity for efficiency and improved outcomes. 

Works with director of global financial planning to plan, execute, and analyze global forecasting processes, including the long-range plan, budget, and quarterly forecasts and guidance.

Interfaces with finance and business partners across the company to articulate and monitor corporate deliverables. 

Manages system processes, including various allocations, reports, and forecasting tools. Serves as a super user of TM1 databases and reporting. 

Monitors and forecasts overhead spending cost centers. May include direct business support of functions. Participates in cross-functional projects as needed. 

Performs other duties as assigned.


Additional Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree, applicable certification or equivalent experience.
• Typically requires 5-8 years of professional experience and strong competency with the various tools, systems, or procedures required to accomplish the job.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, related field, or equivalent 
• 3+ years experience focused on financial forecasting, analysis, and processes with demonstrated organizational and communication abilities 
• Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to identify potential and/or existing financial issues, evaluate available options and recommend corrective action 
• Demonstrated ability to create effective excel models and presentations 
• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) 
• Prior experience with enterprise-level planning systems such as IBM Cognos TM1, experience with visual analytics tools, such as Power BI or Tableau, a plus
