POSITION OVERVIEW

The Middle School History Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering a dynamic, developmentally appropriate history curriculum that engages students in the study of world cultures and United States history. This role fosters critical thinking, historical inquiry, and effective communication skills while supporting students’ intellectual, social, and emotional growth during the Middle School years.

Working within a collaborative Professional Learning Community, the teacher partners with colleagues to design curriculum, develop assessments, and refine instructional practices that promote student engagement and achievement. The position also includes participating in interdisciplinary programming, such as immersive learning experiences, and contributing to the advisory program to support students' holistic development.

Beyond the classroom, the Middle School History Teacher is an active member of the school community, building strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues, and contributing to co-curricular and extracurricular programs. This role reflects Westminster’s commitment to developing the whole person—academically, socially, and ethically—within a supportive and engaging learning environment.

For our part, Westminster stands ready to support you with exceptional resources, including a Center for Teaching that provides workshops, cohorts, coaching, travel grants, and resources to help you be your best.
