1st Grade Teacher (Full-Time)

St. Jude School in Elyria, Ohio is seeking a nurturing and enthusiastic 1st Grade Teacher to join our elementary team. This is a full-time position beginning in the 2026�2027 school year.

The ideal candidate will create a warm, structured, and engaging classroom environment where young learners can grow academically, socially, and spiritually. We are looking for someone who brings energy, patience, and a love for early elementary education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a 1st grade homeroom teacher
• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction across all core subjects
• Foster early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills
• Create a positive and structured classroom environment
• Use hands-on learning, centers, and engaging instructional strategies
• Communicate effectively with families
• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to meet student needs
• Support and model the values of our Catholic faith

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education (or related field)
• Valid Ohio teaching license (or ability to obtain)
• Experience or strong interest in early elementary education
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• A caring, patient, and positive approach with young learners
• Willingness to support the mission of Catholic education
• One year experience in the classroom
