FULL-TIME 7th Grade ONLINE & BLENDED INSTRUCTOR
Required Qualifications:
• State of Michigan teaching certification required (ZG) K-5 all subjects (K-8 all subjects in self-contained
classroom)
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Commitment to educational excellence
• Curricular knowledge consistent with elementary and middle school grade levels
Preferred Qualifications:
• Successful teaching experience at the elementary and/or middle school level
• Strong instructional technology experience (preferably within an LMS)
Responsibilities:
• Report to JIA campus daily from 8:00am - 3:00pm
• Participate in professional development for successful online and hybrid teaching & learning
• Instruct 7th grade courses online within Blackboard (including additional electives or 6-8 core courses as
assigned)
• Customize digital content for students as needed
• Serve as the Academic Advisor for JIA students in 7th grade
• Communicate weekly with students and parents, providing a supportive online teacher presence
• Supervise in-person middle school learning center (LC) and tutoring sessions throughout the week, also
hosting (in-person) and virtual activities & academic advising
• Host live instructional sessions for each course assigned
• Monitor student academic progress and attendance/engagement data weekly
• Proctor grade-level, school-wide assessments
• Follow academic support plans for struggling students, working closely with the JIA Secondary Lead Teacher
& Principal
• Attend parent-teacher conferences
• Uphold all JIA Handbook expectations and policies
