Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:
 

Position purpose: 
The Experiential Learning Coordinator will play a vital role in enhancing the educational experience of law students by coordinating summer externships, in-semester field placements, field clinics, community clinics, and judicial clerkships. This position requires a dynamic individual with strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills who can effectively liaise between students, faculty, and various legal organizations.

Program Support for Experiential Learning Faculty
Provides comprehensive administrative support to the Director of Field Placements, the Assistant Dean for Experiential Learning, and the Director of Judicial Clerkships. Core responsibilities include managing first‑level reviews of experiential learning applications submitted through Briefcase, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with program and accreditation standards.

Student Support
The Coordinator serves as a primary resource for students participating in experiential learning opportunities. This includes addressing inquiries related to applications, placements, registration, timelines, and required documentation.

Monitoring and Evaluation
Throughout each experiential learning cycle, the Coordinator monitors student engagement and progress. Responsibilities include tracking time logs, reviewing time-sheets, monitoring assignment submissions, and identifying compliance or completion concerns at both midterm and end‑of‑term checkpoints.

Field Placement Administrative Duties
The Coordinator manages administrative processes that support field placements, including maintaining accurate placement records, preparing digital and hard‑copy files, and ensuring documentation is complete, properly executed, and securely stored. The role also involves maintaining an up‑to‑date database of community partner sites and placement preferences, assisting with posting and managing placement opportunities, and supporting outreach to new and returning partners.

College of Law Administrative Support:  
The Experiential Learning Coordinator will serve as part of the COL test proctoring team during semester evaluations, mid-term and final examinations, ensuring compliance with testing protocols and providing necessary assistance to students. The Coordinator will assist with law school events throughout the year including Hooding and Commencement Ceremonies.

These activities may fall outside of normal operating hours.

    Required EducationMinimum of 2 year's College required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
      
    Required Experience2-3 years administrative support experience required. 4-6 years preferred. Computer Skills require proficiency in MS Office, including advanced knowledge of Excel, and integrated databases preferred.





    The selected candidate will be required to complete a background check satisfactory to the University.
