Position Title: Potato Grader

Position Type: Regular - Full-Time ​

McCain Produce Inc. is looking for a Regular Seasonal General Laborer / Potato Grader at our Lansdowne, NB location to assist at the Packing Shed facility. 

This is a Regular Seasonal position based at our Packing Shed facility in Lansdowne, NB. Hours vary week to week based on production orders, ranging from 30 to 40 hours per week. This role currently includes a planned seasonal layoff of approximately 2 months in the fall each year and is an expected part of our seasonal schedule that we want candidates to be aware of upfront.

Duties

  • Inspect incoming raw potatoes to ensure quality standards are met

  • Remove rocks and debris from incoming product loads

  • Perform material handling tasks, including lifting 25–50 lbs regularly

  • Assist with troubleshooting, adjusting, and maintaining equipment as required

  • Carry out sanitation duties to maintain a clean and safe workspace

  • Communicate effectively with Team Members to keep operations running smoothly

  • Participate in Team meetings as required

  • Follow all health and safety requirements at all times

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; all backgrounds welcome to apply

  • Strong commitment to safety with a proven safety record

  • Reliable attendance and a genuine team-player attitude

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-motivated, observant, and able to work with minimal supervision

  • Flexible and adaptable, with availability to work weekends
