The Warehouse
Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of the warehouse
personnel to meet shipping and production schedules as well as utilizing the
department’s resources at Process Supply, Inc.
Responsibilities and Duties
As a
minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and
responsibilities expected of the Warehouse Manager. These duties are not
exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require.
- Study
and set work schedules and estimate employee-hour requirements for completion
of job assignments using machine capacity and output. - Interpret
and enforce company policies as well as basic safety and OSHA regulations. - Interpret
specifications, blueprints and job orders to operators and assign appropriate
tasks. - Recommend
measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of
product, suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase
efficiency of department. - Recommend
personnel actions such as evaluations, promotions, transfers or discharges. - Maintain
a training program to ensure all employees are trained accordingly. - Coordinate
activities with other departments to ensure delivery schedules are met. - Supervise
all operations of shipping, receiving, warehouse, transportation, line marking
and cut-off saws. - Train
all employees on handbook and safety requirements and help monitor the
effectiveness of the quality program. - Monitor
and maintain the inventory to minimize variances. - Manage
the receipt and storage of raw material into stock for all departments. - Maximize
efficiency or manpower through increased machine utilization, minimized
movement/double handling, utilize material handlers to stage material, and
minimize overtime hours. - Manage
and control expenditures of departmental consumables including all packaging
consumables (PVC, cardboard, and wood). - Manage
scrap to maximize its usage to make finished goods. - Ensure
the proper disposition of all inbound/outbound freight. - Keep
a clean and safe work environment. - Adhere to all Process Supply, Inc.
safety rules, regulations, and quality standards. - Adhere to all Process Supply, Inc.
handbook policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High
school diploma or equivalent - Two
years or more of plant management experience - Two
years or more of supervisory experience - Good
written and oral communication skills - Good organizational, problem-solving, and
time management skills - Ability
to measure using different tools - Ability
to read and transfer data accurately - Basic
math and computer skills - Ability
to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction - Strong
work ethic; self-motivated - Operate
with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers,
suppliers, and management - Valid
State Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related studies
- Four
years or more of supervisory experience
